What About Us?
Us, is actually me, I am a computer tech by trade. I have been a computer programmer, IT guy, Internet Marketer, Computer Merchant for over 25 years now.
I began doing computer stuff in 1980, and that is all I have done since. I started on an IBM 360.
I started turning pens after I had to do some work on a house I was selling in CA in the late 1990's, last century. I first started doing wood work for the house repairs, then I started building things for the house, then I bought a lathe for some reason, I am not sure why now.
I picked up a magazine at the local bookstore on turning one day, and there was an article on turning pens. I bought a starter kit from a internet mail order house and the rest is history. I have turned a few hundred pens since then. I actually don't know the exact number. I am going to have to figure that out one day.I named the web site thebestwoodenpens.com. This is meant to convey that these are the best wooden pens that I can turn. I am sure that I am not the best at pen turning, but I do try.
I hope you enjoy the pens that you purchase and know that they are all one of a kind. I do not use a duplicator to make the turning easier or faster. Each pen takes app. 1 hour to build. I do build them one at a time. Each is unique in that each piece of wood is as different as a fingerprint. There may be similiar pens, but there will never be two exact copies.
